Friday, 28/02/2020Nganjuk

Field stages expansion of the study of the Integrated Household and Individual Data-Based Stunting Handling System (TEPAT RAMAH) began with program socialization activities to all districts and villages in Nganjuk Regency. Thursday (02/27/20) the first socialization was held in the Hall of Patianrowo District, as a pilot study district. Participants in the socialization were all villages in the Patianrowo District and related institutions at the district and sub-district level. Two people who were interested in the village attended the activity, namely the village head and the staff in charge of the village profile compiler.
The series of socialization activities opened by Edi Srianto as Patianrowo Sub-District Head, then an overview of activities by Purwanto Hari as the Head of Statistics and Information of the Public Communication Office of Communication and Information, discussion of financing schemes by Ovie Andrianto as Head of Community Empowerment and Community Empowerment Office of Nganjuk District, and an explanation of the substance and technical activities by Roni Hermoko as the coordinating committee of the activities of SurveyMETER.
In his introduction, Edi Srianto said that the village profile is an important objective picture for the village. Accurate data in profiles can be used as village development planning. "All the data needed is in the village profile including the data variables that have hampered village development," said Edi.
Hari Purwanto expressed his hope that this program could not be carried out casually but rather fully supported by the village government. Because if every village fills in their profile with the right data, it will bring up the real potential of the village which indirectly promotes the village itself until the possibility of interested ones coming from abroad. "Hopefully with the synergy between the village and the region this Nganjuk can be turned into one data," Hari said.
Whereas Ovie said that the data compilation program was a proof of integration in the interests of villages and regions. Ovie also invites all village governments to account for financial assistance from the central government which amounts to billions of rupiah with accurate development data according to the system currently being designed by SurveyMETER and Nganjuk Communication and Information Technology.
While in the explanation session and briefing on the technical plan of activities to the person in charge of data and village profiles, Roni Hermoko began his presentation by conveying what SurveyMETER had done in collaboration with the Nganjuk District Government through the Health Service and 11 villages in Patianrowo District from 2018 until now. That the sub-districts and 11 villages in Patianrowo already have quality data dashboards, which can be utilized both for the preparation of village profiles, development planning, and others. The dashboards can be updated by each village at very affordable costs by the village budget fund. "So in the future in the future expansion of our study, we are all the spearheads for the quality of the data produced," said Roni while inviting all participants to be coordinators in each village to coordinate the data cadres.
In this long series of activities the Nganjuk Diskominfo as the data guardian of the Nganjuk Regency is SurveyMETER's working partner acting as the PIC program of the Nganjuk District Government. Diskominfo Nganjuk through Nuri Prihandoko as the coordinator of the field technical implementer from the office will arrange a schedule and route for outreach to the 19 other districts that will begin in March 2020. Developing an Integrated System for Stunting Treatment Data-Based at the Health Centers of Nganjuk District
Thursday, 13/09/2018Kabupaten Nganjuk

SurveyMETER collaborates in a program to develop an integrated data-based stunting management system at the puskesmas with the Nganjuk district government through the Health Office. It is carried out in 11 villages in Patianrowo sub-district involving three institutional components, namely the Nganjuk District Health Office (through the PIC of the Health Office, PIC of the Puskesmas, and village midwives), the village (apparatus and health cadres in 11 villages), and SurveyMETER (researchers, facilitators, and the electronic data process (EDP)/programmer team), and fully supported by the Knowledge Sector Initiative (KSI).
The activity commenced with a meeting represented by the person in charge of the SurveyMETER program, Dani Alfah, and the implementing coordinator, Roni Hermoko, with the Head of the Nganjuk District Health and at once the Head of the Family Health Division, Heri Wibowo H., on Wednesday, September 5, 2018. At the meeting, it was verbally agreed on the cooperation between the two institutions including the implementation schedule and the area. There was also presented about research instruments globally on that occasion. The Health Service Office is also responsible for processing permits and passing through the letters from Bappeda to the Regent.
The activity entered the discussion process of deliberating research instruments between SurveyMETER and the Nganjuk District Health Office on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. It serves as a concept maturation prior to the cross-sectoral meeting and the signing of the MoU planned to be held at the end of the month. The discussion took place in the Meeting Room of the Nganjuk District Health Office. The participants were researchers from SurveyMETER and officials from the Family Health Division of the Nganjuk District Health Office consisting of the Public Health Section, the Nutrition Section, and others. The instruments/questionnaires discussed were about demography, pregnant women, and children's (under two years) books.
According to Roni Hermoko, it would be effective for 6 months beginning from October 2018 to March 2019. The adjacent field activity after completing the instrument discussion was a pilot test of the instrument and training of village health cadres as prospective data collectors. The research would be carried out in two stages: the baseline study (October-November 2018) and the endline study (January-February 2019). During field data collection, health cadres would be accompanied by a facilitator from SurveyMETER.
Regarding the impetus for implementing the activity, the person in charge of the program, Dani Alfah, explained it is a form of effort to share SurveyMETER's knowledge with the Nganjuk district government through the health office that committed to making data as a reference for policymaking in the health sector initiating from the smallest scope, namely the village government, puskesmas, and sub-district. "We will learn and share together with the health office in implementing 5 data dimensions, launching from mapping data sources, data collection, data quality (quality control), data analysis, to the use of data related to the health of pregnant women and children," said Dani.
On the other hand, the Head of the Family Health Division of the Nganjuk District Health Office, Guruh Wibowo H., expressed his gratitude for the programs and stages that have been carried out by SurveyMETER. "We are looking for the factors that trigger stunting in Nganjuk district as one focuses of the national concerns on the health sector, and while we have to deal with the funding, SurveyMETER offers its activities, then, of course, we really support it,” explained Guruh regarding the motivation of the Ngajuk District Health Office in supporting the program. SurveyMETER, Cita Sehat Foundation, and Rumah Zakat Held Formal Hearings with the Regent of Bantul
Saturday, 21/10/2017Bantul,Yogyakarta
(JF)
Scholarships for Young Generation Engagement in the Elderly Program
Friday, 18/08/2017Guwosari, Pajangan, Bantul

SurveyMETER has been carrying out mentoring programs for the elderly in Watugedug Hamlet, Guwosari Village, Pajangan, Bantul since 2014. Initiated by cadres of elderly assistants currently consisting of 8 women, various activities have been carried out independently such as elderly gymnastics, homecare, gifts for the bedridden, self-financed posyandu to carry out activities, additional food subsidy, data recording related to elderly measurement results, blood pressure measurement, cadre counseling, regeneration, and so on. Unfortunately, there was no involvement of the younger generation during the activity.
Coming in 2017, a new breakthrough was initiated by SurveyMETER to encourage the involvement of the younger generation in assisting the elderly in the hamlet, namely through the Scholarship Program for Vocational High School (SMK) students from Watugedug hamlet who are committed to being actively involved in retirement activities there. The scholarships are given as long as they study for 3 years. It is expected that in the future, they could become successors and represent the young generation of the hamlet to be actively involved in elderly programs.
The selection of prospective scholarship awardees commenced with an administrative selection (only students who were interested in continuing their studies at a vocational senior high school / SMK) carried out in November 2016. Furthermore, on August 17, 2017, the 7 prospective awardees who had actually registered at the SMK were selected naturally to be involved in the elderly gymnastics’ events. It was in series with the commemoration of the 72nd Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia in Watugedug hamlet.
They were introduced to some simple tasks of activities such as assisting the elderly posyandu cadres in directing the elderly gymnastics participants, picking up (if necessary) for the elderly who live far away, helping with health checks (blood pressure), preparing additional food, and so on.
And above all the introduction stages, the most important thing is the effort to motivate them to be active in productive activities (organizations) while caring for the surrounding environment. (TPA/JF)

Traditional Anti-Senile Massage Training
Monday, 14/11/2016Guwosari, Pajangan, Bantul
Following up on the elderly mentoring activities at Watugedug hamlet, Guwosari, Pajangan, Bantul, SurveyMETER facilitated the training on “The Traditional Javanese Massage Training to Expiate Elderly Senility” for advanced companion cadres. It was held on Sunday, November 13, 2016, at the hamlet head's house of Watugedug. In addition to being attended by 7 cadres, it was also showed up by a male pre-elderly who actively participated in gymnastics and the elderly posyandu.
It aims to train elderly companion cadres to have skills in performing traditional Javanese massage that can be applied when visiting elderly bedridden homecare targets. On this occasion, the Executive Director of SurveyMETER, Dr. Ni Wayan Suriastini M.Phil, was also present and directly involved throughout the training from beginning to end. The trainers were Ms. Yanti and Ms. Rini, two elderly cadres assisted by the Yakkum Emergency Unit (YEU) from Ngentak Sapen, Sleman. Both are cadres of elderly companions previously trained by YEU in their hamlets respectively.
The single-time training session lasted about 1.5 hours. The speaker first presented an explanation about traditional Javanese massage as a whole and then directly practiced it, and later all the training participants took turns doing massage practices with direct supervision from the instructors.
Javanese massage is a massage technique delivered from generation to generation and traditionally carried out in Javanese society. This traditional anti-senile Javanese massage technique begins with a relaxing massage at 3 points, namely: Raden Panji (left and right calves), Boyok (left and right hip and spine), and Cengel (left and right neck). Each point is massaged for 2 minutes.
Thereafter start squeezing therapy by practicing various massage techniques for 3 minutes at 8 points in a row, such as ngisor pongol (between the thumb and index bones of the left and right toes), ngisor kemiri (located at the bottom of the left and right ankles), raden panji (left and right calves), boyok (left and right waist of the spine) cengel (on the left and right neck), pokping (under the left and right ear bones: to get rid of dizziness, stressed, colds, and insomnolence), pilingan (left and right temples), and embun-embun (crown of the head).
In addition to being appropriate for reducing senility, massage is also pertinent for improving blood circulation, soothing muscles, calming mental tension, and increasing appetite. (TPA/JF)
