The World Bank commissioned SurveyMETER in cooperation with the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, to conduct the Survey of Indonesian Workers' Participation in the Old Age Savings Program. Survey data collection was carried out online.

This survey aims to identify the characteristics of informal sector workers and their preferences for old-age social security. It is envisaged that the results of this survey will serve as a foundation for developing new initiatives or policies aimed at increasing the share of informal sector workers in employment social security and old-age social security in particular.

Those who work as unpaid employees, owners of small or micro enterprises, or as casual or daily workers comprise the respondents. This study, which targeted 5000 participants aged 15 to 56, was conducted from March 4 to April 3, 2021.
