Training of Nganjuk Regency STPSP Field Officers

The series of activities on the Study of Integrated System Development for Handling Data-Based Stunting at the Puskesmas Level (STPSP) in Nganjuk Regency continues. After the socialization and cooperation agreement was signed a health cadre meeting and the staff of the puskesmas were conducted and the next study process was training prospective field officers. The training was held for three days from 23-25 ​​October 2018 in the Meeting Room of the Patianrowo Health Center.

The training was attended by 27 health cadres from 11 villages in the Patianrowo District of Nganjuk Regency. The training was held from 09.00 until 16.00 WIB. The trainees were very enthusiastic in following the series of material. Every day most of them have been waiting in the meeting hall since the clock shows eight o'clock in the morning and follow the material with perseverance and enthusiasm.

The first day of training material series is a study overview and human subject protection, stages of study to obtain quality data (which consists of: what are surveys and censuses, how to obtain quality data, interview techniques, and procedures for writing questionnaires), explanation of demographic modules, demonstration of demographic module interviews, round robin demographic modules, and explanation of pregnant women modules.

The second day of training materials sequentially began with the review of pregnant women modules, ice breaking (gymnastics), demonstration interviews of pregnant women modules, round robin modules for pregnant women, explanation of child modules, demonstration of child module interviews, roun robin child modules, explanations and demonstrations of measurement techniques anthropometry, and mother-child measurement practices.

The third day's training material is live respondent and field technical explanation consisting of survey management (questionnaire collection process, data quality assurance process), daily time and targets, budget, lines of communication, and force majeure). The third day of training was closed with an explanation of the study flow as well as an explanation and demonstration of anthropometric measurement techniques and also hemoglobin (HB) to the village midwife who would be responsible as the respondent's blood sampling officer.

The training was taught by Dani Alfah MPA as the person in charge of the activities as well as the main researcher who was also the Head of the SurveyMETER Assistance and Development Section, Roni Hermoko as the Activity Implementation Coordinator, and Hendy PP as the field coordinator assisted by 4 activity facilitators.
