Implementation of Sub E12 data collection at one of the high schools in DKI Jakarta

YPI Project served to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of DAKU and Dance 4Life (Inspire-Educate-Activate-Celebrate) programs for students in making more informed decission about their sexual activities. The study was carried out in October through mid November 2012 covered 15 high schools of 4 types of schools: schools that implement the paper-based DAKU, school with computer based DAKU, schools with Dance4Life, schools with both Daku and Dance4life, in Jakarta. A total sample size of 300 students consisted of 20 students in each of school.

The YPI Project used a data collection method of CASI (Computer Assisted Self Interview) and CSPro software to develop the application for data entry activity which was designed by SurveyMETER’s in-house programmer, Iip Umar Rifai. CASI method is considered to be more appropriate for this study because it maintained respondents’ privacy and reduced their pressure and and psychological influence of the surrounding environment.

In the scope of the reseach activity, SurveyMETER has successfully implemented CASI research methods using the computer directly as CASI methods reduced time and the use of paper for data collection for better future research. (SM)
