SurveyMETER again earned the honor to share knowledge in the field of research with students. Six of the final-year students of the human resources study course, Faculty of Economics of the University of Indonesia, currently participated in the workshop on Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS) data processing using the STATA program. It took place a week from 20 to 25 January 2013 at the SurveyMETER Office, Jalan Jenengan Raya Maguwoharjo Yogyakarta.
The target of this workshop is to assist participants in completing their thesis and paper assignments specifically. All participants are required in their writings to use IFLS data as a source of reference. Professor Mayling Oey-Gardiner, as the human resources subject lecturer at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Indonesia, recommend they learn about the STATA data program firsthand at SurveyMETER. The speakers for this 'week's lecture' are the Coordinator of SurveyMETER's Study Section, Edy Purwanto, M.Sc, and Nur Suci Arnashanti as SurveyMETER's Electronic Data Process (EDP) staff that experts in the STATA data program. According to one of the participants, Utami Putri M., this week's lecture was very useful in helping her final college assignment. She said, one week is not enough time to learn more about the STATA data program and the intricacies of IFLS, which is very rich in data on the development of Indonesian human resources. (TPA/JF)
