- Tanggal : 05/08/2014 - 02/09/2014
- Lokasi : Grand Wahid Hotel Salatiga City, Central Java
The series of implementation of the 5th Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS-5) in 2014 entered the training phase for prospective enumerators. Divided it into two waves in the venue at the Grand Wahid Hotel, Salatiga City. The first training wave was held for 25 days from August 5 to September 2, 2014, then followed by the second one from September 4 to September 30, 2014.
The first wave of training was attended by 154 participants for the 13 team members, namely: Team D (South Sumatra), Team F (DKI A), Team G (DKI B), Team H (Jabar A), Team I (Jabar B), Team J (Jabar C), Team K (West Java D), Team Q (Jatim A), Team R (Jatim B), Team S (Jatim C), Team U (NTB), Team V (South Kalimantan), and Team W (South Sulawesi). Each team consists of 8-10 team members subsisting of 1 team supervisor, 1 data supervisor, and 6-8 interviewers (enumerators).
On Wednesday, August 8, 2014, the chairwoman and founder of SurveyMETER, Bondan S. Sikoki, MA, ceremonially inaugurated the wave 1 training. In the first session, Professor John Strauss as the Principal Investigator of the survey opened the training by presenting an introductory paper on the training entitled "IFLS". Prof. John conveyed important points related to the results of the study and the features of IFLS. Prior to commencing the event, the training was filled with preparations for training completeness, introductions, and training briefings on Tuesday night.
Mrs. Bondan, in her overview, congratulated all the training participants in the IFLS class research. Because, apart from being a household and community research standard, IFLS is also a reference for national and international academics. "I guarantee that IFLS graduates will be very easily accepted in any other survey conducted by other institutions or other research jobs," she said.
She added that IFLS is one of the few and far-between surveys that possess questions and answers designed based on research results. IFLS teaches enumerators to understand how the origin, urgency, and question variables are raised. Also, how is the question important for other variables in order that it needs the next question. "For about a month, we are all a team. We will study IFLS together," she asserted with a shout of enthusiasm. (JF)
