Dissemination of the Study Results of Age-Friendly Cities Capacity Assessment of Payakumbuh City

Having completed the field activities and data processing, SurveyMETER and CAS UI commenced to carry out a tour series of activities to disseminate the study results of the Age-Friendly City Capacity Assessment through direct presentations in front of policymakers in every city of study samples. The Payakumbuh City of West Sumatra was the first city visited for dissemination on Monday, May 6, 2013.

It was held in a definite workshop with the theme “One Step Towards Elderly’s Dream of Age-Friendly City 2030”, in the 2nd-floor meeting room of the City Hall Office in Bukit Sebalik Payakumbuh. The Executive Director of SurveyMETER, Dr. Ni Wayan Suriastini, M.Phil, presented the results of the study under the title “One Step Towards Older People's Dreams of Age-Friendly City 2030”, while dr. Retty Irwan, M.P.H., from CAS UI, delivered the material titled "Portrait of the Elderly, National Commitment to Global Commitment". Workshop participants are representatives of stakeholders in Payakumbuh City including the Mayor's Staff for Education and Human Resources, Drs. Edvianus, Secretary of Bappeda Ir. Ismet Ibrahim, M.Si, Chairman of the Elderly Commission of Payakumbuh, H. Syamsuar, BA, Head of the Socio-Cultural Division of Bappeda, Yulfah Riyanti SS, M.Si, and some other SKPDs leaders. [JF]
