Edy Purwanto bergabung dengan SurveyMETER Indonesia sejak tahun 2002. Beliau memperoleh gelar Doktor ilmu ekonomi dari Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Airlangga Surabaya dengan disertasi “Pengaruh Utang Terhadap Kebahagiaan Individu: Analisis Empiris Data IFLS”. Saat ini di SurveyMETER sebagai Koordinator Divisi Kajian. Projek-projek yang telah dikerjakan antara lain: Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS), Perception of employment Survey / SP3K 2016, Customer Satisfaction Survey BPS 2015, Data Collection for the Baseline Survey of the Community-Based Health and Nutrition to Reduce Stunting Project, Post Implementation Household Survey and Impact Assessment of Second Water Sanitation for Low Income Communities Project (WSLIC-2 Project), Micro Foundation of Health and Development – Worker Iron Supplementation Evaluation Project (WISE), Understanding Effective Disease Control of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influence in Indonesia, Decentralized Agricultural and Forestry Extension Evaluation Project (DAFEP).
