Edy Purwanto bergabung dengan SurveyMETER Indonesia sejak tahun 2002. Beliau menyelesaikan program Master of Science dan saat selanjutnya menempuh Program Doktor di Fakultas Ekonomika dan Bisnis Universitas Gadjah Mada. Saat ini di SurveyMETER sebagai Koordinator Divisi Kajian. Projek-projek yang telah dikerjakan antara lain: Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS), Perception of employment Survey / SP3K 2016, Customer Satisfaction Survey BPS 2015, Data Collection for the Baseline Survey of the Community-Based Health and Nutrition to Reduce Stunting Project, Post Implementation Household Survey and Impact Assessment of Second Water Sanitation for Low Income Communities Project (WSLIC-2 Project), Micro Foundation of Health and Development – Worker Iron Supplementation Evaluation Project (WISE), Understanding Effective Disease Control of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influence in Indonesia, Decentralized Agricultural and Forestry Extension Evaluation Project (DAFEP).
